Security forces in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State are investigating the death of a businessman, identified as Musa Saidu, who was allegedly killed by a stray bullet during a security response to an incident in Sha District on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026.
Sources said the incident occurred earlier in the day when security personnel responded to reported security incidents in the area.
Saidu, who was described by residents as a well-known businessman in the community, was reportedly inside his residence when he was struck by a bullet.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remained unclear as of the time of filing this report, while authorities were yet to establish whether the bullet was fired by security personnel responding to the incident.

The commander reportedly assured the family that the circumstances leading to Saidu’s death would be thoroughly investigated and that appropriate findings would be established.
Residents said the incident had caused tension in the community, with calls for a transparent investigation to determine how the businessman was killed.
