The troops in collaboration with the government backed militia also known as Civilian Joint Task Force laid an ambush for the terrorists and instantly, neutralised mamy of them.
A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, in Maiduguri, yesterday, said that the troops also captured one terrorist alive, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
"The ambush had triggered a heavy gunfight between us. They later retreated and attempted fleeing but we chased them and as a result, we killed many of them. Many others also escaped with bullet wounds," the sources said.
