Troops of Sector 8, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have facilitated an amicable settlement between parties involved in an attack on cattle and subsequent arrest of suspects in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Zagazola Makama reports that the development followed the alleged malicious attack on cattle by some locals and the arrest of suspects on Aug. 28.

Following the intervention by the troops at about 5:50 p.m. on Sept. 3, the parties reached an amicable resolution of the dispute.

As part of the settlement, the suspects were released after the payment of N200,000 to the owners of the cattle, identified as Mr Abdul Umar and Mustapha Abdul Kareem.

The intervention is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to promote peaceful resolution of disputes and prevent local disagreements from escalating into wider communal tensions.
