Troops neutralise suspected IPOB/ESN member in Anambra, recover arms

Troops under Sector 5, Operation UDO KA (OPUK), have neutralised a suspected IPOB/ESN member during a fighting patrol in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 9:00 a.m. on April 13 in the Umuogem–Umuonyeoka general area of Ufuma following credible intelligence on suspected terrorist activities.
According to the sources, troops made contact with the suspects upon arrival, and an exchange of fire ensued.
They added that one of the suspects was neutralised while others fled the scene.
The sources disclosed that items recovered from the scene include one pump-action gun, one riot gun, two motorcycles, four live cartridges, one tear gas canister, four mobile phones and one power bank.
They noted that follow-up operations are ongoing to track down fleeing suspects and sustain security dominance in the area.
