Troops Neutralise Terrorist in Ambush Operation in Bama

Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised one suspected terrorist during an ambush operation in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 5:45 p.m. on May 2 by troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade deployed at Forward Operating Base Darel Jamel.
The sources disclosed that the troops laid an ambush at a suspected terrorist crossing point in Dipchari community, where they made contact with the insurgents.
According to the sources, a brief exchange of fire ensued, leading to the neutralisation of one terrorist, while other members of the group fled the scene.
They added that troops subsequently repositioned to continue the operation, with monitoring and follow-up actions ongoing in the general area.
The sources noted that security patrols have been intensified to prevent regrouping and ensure continued dominance of the area.
