Troops Neutralise Terrorist, Rescue Three Kidnap Victims in Zamfara

Troops conducting a routine patrol along the Shinkafi–Moriki axis of Zamfara State have neutralised a terrorist and rescued three kidnapped victims during a successful counter-banditry operation.
Security sources said the troops ambushed a group of terrorists operating along the axis and engaged them in a firefight.
According to the sources, one terrorist was neutralised during the encounter, while troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, five magazines, a Baofeng communication radio, two motorcycles and assorted charms.
The sources further disclosed that three kidnapped victims were rescued during the operation.
The victims are currently receiving medical attention and necessary care, while efforts are ongoing to reunite them with their families.
Military authorities described the operation as part of sustained efforts to combat terrorism, banditry and kidnapping across Zamfara State and the wider North-West region.
They reiterated their commitment to maintaining pressure on criminal elements and ensuring the safety of residents in affected communities.
