Troops Neutralise Two Terrorists, Recover Livestock in Sokoto

Troops of 8 Division have neutralised two suspected terrorists during a response operation to reported terrorist movement involving livestock in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 12:00 p.m. on May 19 following credible intelligence on the movement of armed elements and rustled animals around Garin Faaji and Zalla Bango villages.
The troops reportedly intercepted the suspects at Garin Faaji Fadama area, where they made contact with the terrorists and engaged them in a brief firefight.
Two of the suspected terrorists were neutralised during the encounter.
Items recovered from the scene included one camel and 34 sheep believed to have been rustled by the armed group.
The recovered livestock were subsequently handed over to the relevant local government authorities for further action.
Security sources said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to curb banditry, cattle rustling, and terrorist activities across border communities in Sokoto State.
