Troops Neutralize another Key Bandit Leader, Kachallah Babangida” Destroy Camps in Zamfara Clearance Operations

The Nigerian Army troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have intensified clearance operations against bandits in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, neutralizing a key bandit fighter identified as Babangida, alongside several others.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that the successful offensive was carried out on March 10, 2025, with support from the Nigerian Air Force component.

It was gathered that the troops launched an early morning raid on Dan Sa’adi, a well-known bandit stronghold located at the foot of a high ground which resulted in a fierce gun battle with the troops but were overpowered by a combined ground and aerial assault. Survivors fled to higher ground, where the Air Component continued bombardment

Bandit damage assessments confirmed that several bandits were killed, including Babangida, a key fighter. Several weapons where destroyed as well as the bandits’ camps in the area.

In a separate raid, troops cleared and destroyed another bandit hideout in Gidan Rugga, including the residence of a suspected bandit collaborator, Sa’adia’s father.

Items recovered from the house include: One woodland camouflage uniform (green) and One pair of black military boots. Additionally, a shop used for selling Baofeng radio chargers to bandits was identified and set ablaze to disrupt their communication network.

Troops also cleared and secured the Kungurki-Walo road, improving security for residents.
