Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have recovered 22 cattle found grazing on farmlands destroyed in Teegbe village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. on June 23, following a report that farmlands belonging to three farmers had been damaged by grazing cattle.

The affected farmers were identified as Mr. Danjuma Yaris, Gado Chiyi and Bitrus Nechi.

The sources said security personnel responded promptly to the scene and intercepted 22 cattle grazing on the affected farms without any herder in sight.

The livestock were subsequently moved to a safe location pending further administrative and legal action by the relevant authorities.

The incident is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb farmer-herder conflicts and protect farmlands in the state.
