Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have recovered two sheep abandoned by herders following a reported farm destruction incident at Nkindiro village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2026, when troops responded to a report of farm destruction in the area.
Upon arrival at the location, the troops found two sheep that had been abandoned by the herders.
The herders were said to have fled with other cattle after sighting the approaching troops.
The troops recovered the two sheep and moved the livestock to a safe location for further necessary action.
The incident comes amid continuing security concerns over disputes involving farming and livestock activities in parts of Plateau State, where isolated incidents can quickly escalate tensions between communities.
The recovery of the livestock is expected to assist security personnel in establishing the circumstances surrounding the reported farm destruction and identifying the rightful owners.
