Troops recover rifle, motorcycles in ambush operation along Marte–Dikwa road

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have recovered an AK-47 rifle and two motorcycles during an ambush operation against Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists along the Marte–Dikwa road in Borno State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 12:35 a.m. on Feb. 3 by troops of 50 Task Force Battalion under 24 Task Force Brigade, in conjunction with troops of 134 Special Forces Battalion.
“Troops were deployed on an ambush position along the Marte–Dikwa road when they came in contact with Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists riding on two motorcycles,” the sources stated.
It added that the troops engaged the terrorists with a high volume of fire, forcing them to flee in disarray.
“Following the engagement, the troops at first light went for exploitation and recovered one AK-47 rifle with registration number 20110061 and two motorcycles,” it said.
The report noted that no casualty was recorded on the side of the troops, while further clearance operations were ongoing in the general area.
The military reiterated its commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against terrorists to deny them freedom of movement and restore lasting peace in the North-East.
