Troops recover rifles, magazines in intelligence-led operation in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have recovered three AK-47 rifles and five magazines during an intelligence-led operation along the Mafa border corridor in Borno State.

Zagazola Makama report that the operation, conducted as a follow-up to an earlier encounter with terrorists on Aug. 7, led to the recovery of the weapons believed to be part of the insurgents’ cache of arms and ammunition.

Sources said the earlier engagement resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorist, while subsequent operations in the area yielded the additional recovery.

The military command commended the troops for the feat and urged them to sustain intelligence-driven operations across the North-East theatre.
