Troops Repel Ambush, Recover Items in Borno – JTF North East

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai under Joint Task Force (North East) have repelled an ambush by suspected terrorists Konduga in Borno State and recovered assorted items.
Military sources said the incident occurred at about 7:20 p.m. on May 26 when troops of 222 Battalion (Motorised) and 21 Special Armoured Brigade, in conjunction with local vigilantes, made contact with terrorists.
According to the sources, the troops engaged the attackers, forcing them to retreat in disarray.
The sources added that the troops exploited the area and recovered two bicycles, as well as food items including chin-chin, 17 sachets of salt, 12 sachets of seasoning cubes and five litres of water.
The report noted that the general security situation across the theatre remained calm but unpredictable.
