Troops  repel terror attack in Monguno, recover weapons

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully repelled a suspected terrorist attack in Monguno, Borno State, with no fatalities reported among military personnel.

 

Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident occurred at about 1723 hours on 18 November 2025 when troops came under attack. The troops engaged the attackers and forced them to withdraw.

 

Subsequent exploitation along the route of the fleeing terrorists revealed traces of blood, suggesting casualties among the attackers, although this remains unconfirmed.

 

The operation resulted in injuries to four soldiers and one forest guard. They were stabilised at Sector 3 Medical Support Hospital and are awaiting evacuation to 7 Division Military Hospital.

 

Troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 12 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a packet belt containing 120 rounds of 7.62x54mm ammunition, a terrorist turban, and three pairs of slippers. Exploitation of the area is ongoing.
