Troops repel terrorists’ attack in Sokoto, gunned down four terrorists

Troops of 8 Division Garrison have eliminated four terrorists while repelling an attack in Tara village, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. on April 11 when troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Gatawa responded to reports of terrorist activities in the area.
According to the sources, the troops made contact with the attackers on arrival and engaged them with superior firepower, killing four of them instantly.
They added that the rest of the terrorists were forced to flee the scene following the exchange.
No casualties were reported from the side of the troops.
The sources noted that troops are maintaining heightened vigilance and continuing operations to prevent further attacks in the area.
