Troops Repel Terrorists, Recover Motorcycle and Military Gear in Zamfara

Troops of Operation FANAN YANMA of the Nigerian Army, in conjunction with personnel of the Mobile Strike Team, have repelled suspected terrorists along the Jengeru–Moriki road in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The encounter occurred at about 12 p.m. on Aug. 7, following information about terrorist activity around Kwanar Jolof.
According to military sources, the troops swiftly mobilised to the area and made contact with the terrorists.
The troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to withdraw in disarray.
The troops subsequently exploited the general area and recovered one motorcycle, a pair of camouflage uniforms, a camouflage vest, a jungle hat, a mosquito net and a sleeping mat.
The troops dominated the area following the encounter, restoring normalcy and allowing civilian vehicular movement to resume along the road.
