Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued three kidnap victims and launched a search for two others abducted by suspected kidnappers along the Jos–Zaria Road in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:05 p.m. on June 24 in the Mista Ali area, following a report of kidnapping activities along the highway.
The sources said security personnel responded swiftly to the distress call, forcing the armed kidnappers to flee the scene.
During the operation, three victims identified as Osuji Franklin, Danjuma Moses and Irimiya Shehu were rescued with varying degrees of injuries.
However, preliminary findings indicated that the attackers had abducted two other victims, identified as Dayo and Henry Owen, before the arrival of the security team.
The rescued victims were evacuated to the General Hospital, Mista Ali, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Security personnel also recovered an Opel Zafira vehicle with registration number RYM 25 A2 abandoned at the scene.
Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing kidnappers and secure the safe rescue of the remaining abducted victims.
