Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered 107 stolen cattle following an encounter with suspected terrorists in Danko, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 7:55 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2026, by troops of 223 Battalion, deployed under Counter-Terrorism (CT) operations, following reports of kidnapping and cattle rustling in the Danko general area.
The troops swiftly mobilised to the area and engaged the suspected terrorists at a crossing point in Danko, forcing the criminals to flee and abandoning their captives and stolen livestock.
During the operation, two kidnapped victims were successfully rescued, while 107 cattle were recovered from the fleeing suspects.
The rescued victims and recovered livestock were subsequently handed over to the District Head of Danko for onward return to their rightful owners.
The operation represents another significant intervention by troops to protect vulnerable communities, disrupt criminal networks and recover property stolen by armed groups operating across the North-West.
The military has continued to sustain operations aimed at denying terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action while strengthening security across affected communities.
