Troops respond to attack on farmer in Plateau, arrest suspect’s father, recover motorcycles

Troops of Sector 4 Operation Enduring Peace have responded to an attack on a farmer, Mr. Isah Ahmad, in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident occurred between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on May 28 at Hai Kurra Fall following a dispute over grazing on farmland.
According to the sources, the farmer was allegedly attacked by a herder after resisting attempts to graze cattle on his farm.
The sources disclosed that the victim sustained injuries while the suspected attacker fled the scene.
They added that the troops later arrested the father of the fleeing suspect, identified as Mr. Umar Abdullahi, during follow-up operations in the area.
A search conducted in the village also led to the recovery of three Boxer motorcycles.
The injured farmer was evacuated to a medical facility in Makoli Village for treatment, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
