Security sources said that at about 4:28 p.m. on March 23, troops responded to reports of illicit sale of petrol in jerrycans at Sauri Sai Allah Nigeria Limited filling station.
On arrival, they recovered 11 jerrycans of petroleum motor spirit (PMS), 58 empty jerrycans, and three motorcycles used in the operation.
In a separate action at about 10:04 p.m. the same day, troops moved to Asuj Multi Concept Synergy Nigeria Limited in Jigalamu, where they apprehended one local suspect with a vehicle loaded with 155 empty jerrycans intended for illegal fuel transport.
A motorcycle used by suspected smugglers who fled on sighting the troops was also recovered.
Following the operations, the two fuel stations were sealed indefinitely, and all seized items are in the custody of the troops for further action.
