Two suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the trafficking of a 16-year-old girl, Zainab Ojelade, from Ogun State to Niger Republic en route to Libya.
According to sources , Zainab, who absconded from home on Sept. 14, was allegedly lured by Latifat Eleyele of Ajibode Area, Sango-Ota, to meet Eleyele’s husband in Libya.
Eleyele was promptly arrested and reportedly confirmed that Zainab’s boyfriend, Kehinde Amos, also known as Akaka, brought the teenager to her for assistance to travel abroad in search of greener pastures. Zainab was subsequently sent to a link man in Sokoto State for onward movement to Libya.
Sources said Amos was later arrested, and preliminary investigations are ongoing. The suspects are set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) upon conclusion of investigations.
