Two Civilians Injured as Gunmen Attack Provision Store in Bauchi

Two civilians sustained gunshot wounds when two armed youths opened fire at a provision store in Kasuwan Naira village, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The incident occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on Aug. 19, when troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 82, deployed at Lere, responded to reports of sporadic shootings in the community.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the gunmen, identified as two Fulani youths, arrived at the village market square carrying an AK-47 rifle and opened fire at a provision store before fleeing through nearby bushes.
Two civilians sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.
The victims were immediately evacuated to the General Hospital, Tafawa Balewa, where they are receiving medical attention.
Troops have commenced efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects, while security measures have been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks.
The incident has heightened security concerns in the community, with security agencies working to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the attack.
Residents have also been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to security authorities.
