Zulum  to provide APC's,  patrol vehicles for troops  fighting Boko Haram/ISWAP

The governor made the announcement on Tuesday when he  paid an assessment visit to Malam-Fatori, a former Boko Haram stronghold on the shores of the Lake Chad.

 

He said that he would soon approve for the  release of armoured personnel carriers (APCs), patrol vehicles and some security gadgets for soldiers to enhance their fight against terror. 

 

The support, Zulum noted, was to also  strengthen the military’s capacity to increase their effectiveness in the fight against insurgents.

 

The governor commended the officers and men of 68 Battalion, Malam-Fatori, for their bravery and professionalism in discharging their duties. 

 

 

 

Zulum was received by the commanding officer of 68 battalion, Malam-Fatori, Col. A. Onyeukwu. 

 

Recalled that governor Zulum had within the last one year supported the Nigerian Police Force with 9 APCs to boost their capacity in responding to attacks by terrorists in Maiduguri as well as liberated communities.
