Abia Gas Cylinder Explosion at Inner Galaxy Steel Company Leaves Two Dead, 11 Injured

A fatal gas cylinder explosion occurred at Inner Galaxy Steel Company in Umuhala Obuzor Asa, Ukwa West LGA, Abia State, on March 25, 2025, leaving two dead and 11 others injured.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that
the incident happened around 10:13 AM when a customer accidentally dropped a gas cylinder, causing a massive explosion.
The injured victims were rushed to Ponyx Hospital, GRA, Port Harcourt, for medical attention.
When police officers, led by Supol Obehie, arrived at the scene, they found remnants of the exploded gas cylinder, flesh, and blood splatters. The area was secured, and preliminary investigations commenced.
A later visit to the hospital confirmed that two male victims had died, while 11 others were receiving treatment and responding well.
