Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper in Plateau, Recover Ammunition

Operatives of the Plateau State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered a cache of ammunition in Kabwir Community, Kanke Local Government Area.

 

According to the police, the arrest followed credible intelligence received at about 10:40 p.m. on March 25, 2025, indicating that a suspected kidnapper was lodging in a hotel in the area.

 

Acting on the information, a team of officers led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kanke mobilized to the location, where they apprehended Auwal Haruna (25), an indigene of Kaduna State.

 

A search of the suspect’s belongings led to the recovery of: 51 rounds of 7.62x51mm ammunition,  14 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, 1 AA cartridge, 1 AK-47 empty magazine, Assorted charms and other suspicious items

 

The police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.
