Bandits attack Bauna village in Katsina; one killed, two injured

Unidentified armed bandits attacked Bauna Village in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State in the early hours of Monday, leaving one person dead and two others injured.
Sources said the incident occurred at about 12:24 a.m. when the assailants entered the community.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA and local security operatives, engaged the hoodlums in a sustained gunfight, forcing them to flee.
Three victims – Salisu Abubar, 40; Dauda Hashimu, 35; and Ibrahim Muhd, 50 – were rushed to the General Hospital Funtua.
Salisu Abubar was certified dead on arrival, while the other two sustained gunshot wounds and were admitted for treatment.
Sources said cordon and search operations were ongoing in collaboration with neighboring divisions to apprehend the perpetrators.
