Armed bandits attacked a vigilante camp in Wayam Village, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, but no casualties were recorded, security sources confirmed on Thursday.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the  attack occurred around 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, when a large number of bandits, riding on about 125 motorcycles, stormed the camp.

“Fortunately, none of the vigilantes were in the camp at the time of the attack, so no lives were lost,” the officer said.

Security forces in the area were alerted, and combined tactical teams were mobilized to pursue the attackers but they fled.

“We are closely monitoring their movements, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend them,” the source added.
