Bandits Foiled in Cattle Rustling Attempt in Sokoto

Armed bandits from the Lakurawa group attempted a cattle rustling operation in Kalanjeni Village, Tangaza Local Government Area (LGA), Sokoto State, on April 23, 2025.

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the  bandits, who arrived in large numbers, sought to steal domestic animals. 

 

The troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with the police and local vigilantes, thwarted their efforts. The security forces engaged the bandits in a gunfight, causing the criminals to abandon the rustled animals and flee the scene.

 

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, and all stolen livestock were recovered.
