Police raid criminal hideouts, arrest 56 suspects in FCT

The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested 56 suspects during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across the territory.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that  the raids, which took place on Thursday night, were carried out simultaneously by operatives from Kubwa, Nyanya, Maitama, Gwagwa, Dawaki, Gwarinpa, Asokoro, Karu, Jikwoyi, Mpape, Lokogoma, and Utako Divisions.

 

According to sources , the exercise targeted black spots, uncompleted buildings and criminal hideouts within the divisions’ areas of responsibility.

 

The sources  said items recovered included dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.

 

“The suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at the respective divisions, and those found culpable will be charged to court,”said the sources. 

 

The sources aid the FCT remained relatively calm and peaceful, adding that the Command would sustain its crackdown on criminal elements in the territory.
