Bandits kill two, abduct four in Niger community

Armed bandits have attacked Hayin Gando Village in Kusherki District of Rafi Local Government Area, Niger State, killing two residents and abducting four others in a fresh wave of violence.
Sources told Zagazola Makama on Thursday that the incident occurred on July 1 at about 6:30 p.m. when the assailants, numbering in large groups, stormed the village and opened fire on residents.
Two victims, identified as Kabiru A. Boyi and Umar Bala, were shot dead during the invasion.
The gunmen also kidnapped four villagers Liman Shehu Sahab, Iliya Zayyanu, Shehu Bala, and Aliyu A. Boyi, all males from the same community.
The corpses of the deceased were later evacuated to the General Hospital in Kagara for autopsy.
A joint team of security forces, and local vigilantes has been mobilized and is currently trailing the attackers in an effort to rescue the abducted victims.
