Bandits kill two farmers in Zamfara village attack

Suspected armed bandits have killed two farmers during a daytime attack on Kaya village in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

 

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 9:00 a.m. on April 27 when a large group of armed assailants stormed the community and targeted farmers engaged in land clearing on their farmlands.

 

The sources disclosed that the attackers opened indiscriminate fire, causing panic and forcing residents to flee for safety.

 

According to the sources, two male victims identified as Abdullahi Mai Kano, 50, and Najari Tari, 45, both indigenes of the area, were killed during the attack.

 

The sources added that the bodies were evacuated to a primary health care centre in Faru for necessary procedures before being released to their families for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

 

They further stated that security teams have launched aggressive manhunt operations and intensified patrols in the area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks.
