Bandits kill village head, one other in Sokoto

A village head has been killed has been confirmed killed and another resident by suspected bandits in Tangaza Local Government Area of the state.
Zagazola gathered from sources that on Sept. 18, at about 1:30 a.m., hoodlums suspected to be Lakurawa bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded Sayinna, a remote village in Tangaza LGA, shooting sporadically.
“In the process, two male residents were shot and killed. They are Murtala Sa’adu, 47, the Village Head of Sayinna, and Ibrahim Mai-Kudi, both of the same address.
“The attackers later fled into nearby bushes after the incident,” said the sources.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA were promptly mobilsied to the scene. The victims were evacuated to a hospital, while patrols have been intensified within the area of responsibility to forestall further attacks.
