Police operatives have launched a cordon and search operation following a cattle rustling attack on Unguwar Tsamiya village in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on April 29 when a group of heavily armed bandits invaded the community and rustled an unspecified number of cattle.

The sources disclosed that upon receipt of the report, security operatives in Kafur immediately mobilised patrol teams to the area and moved to block possible escape routes used by the attackers.

According to the sources, the area has since been cordoned off, while coordinated search operations are ongoing to track down the perpetrators and recover the rustled livestock.
