Troops arrest suspected terrorist informant, recover motorcycle, cash in Sokoto

Troops of the 8 Guards Task Force (GTF) Administration, operating from Forward Operating Base (FOB) Denge Shuni, have arrested a suspected terrorist informant in Denge Shuni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The suspect was apprehended at about 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, during an operation conducted within the community.
According to a security report obtained by Zagazola Makama, the troops arrested the suspect over alleged links to terrorist activities in the area.
During the operation, the troops recovered one Tecno mobile phone, one motorcycle and ₦195,200 in cash from the suspect.
The suspect and the recovered items were subsequently handed over to 8 Military Intelligence Brigade (8 MIB) for further interrogation and investigation.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security forces in the Sokoto axis to identify and dismantle support networks providing information, logistics and other assistance to terrorist groups operating in the region.
Troops are expected to sustain intelligence-led operations across the area to uncover other suspected collaborators and disrupt criminal and terrorist networks.
