Boko Haram kidnapped 9 commuters in Nigeria- Niger border

A devastating incident occurred on August 22, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m. when a team of six armed men, suspected to be members of the JAS faction of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT), attacked Nigerian motorists between Muria Village and Walada, across River Kumadouku, near the Nigerien border.

 

The attackers, who were on horses, kidnapped nine people, including seven males and two females.

 

 The victims include:Kuriya Mallam Kura, male, from Damasak Central,Yusufu Yau Ustass, male, from Hausari Ward, Damasak, Ya'gana Mallam Hassan, female, from the same address

 

In a distressing phone call to his family members at around 9:00 p.m., Yusufu Yau Ustaz, revealed that the abductors are demanding a ransom of N5 million per victim for their release.

 

In a related incident on August 21, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a team of insurgents believed to be members of the BHT faction of ISWAP kidnapped two people, including Tijani Kareto, APC Ward Chairman, and his brother. The attackers also looted two vehicles.

 

The whereabouts of the nine victims and the two vehicles remain unknown, and the situation is being closely monitored.
