The operation, which took place at approximately 1630 hours on August 8, 2024, was based on intelligence reports indicating the movement of ISWAP terrorists crossing the Kumala general area.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the ambush was conducted at a strategic point along the terrorists' crossing route from Sambisa to Alagarno Forest.
The sources said that during the ambush, contact was made with the terrorists, who attempted to cross the area. Two terrorists were neutralized, while the remaining members of the group fled the scene.
The troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three bicycles, and assorted food items.
