Brigadier General Tiani Elevated to Army General, Inaugurated as Niger’s President

 Brigadier General Abdurahmane Tiani was on Wednesday elevated to the rank of General of the Army and officially inaugurated as the President of the Republic of Niger.

The solemn ceremony, held in Niamey, marked the official launch of the implementation of the resolutions and recommendations of the National Headquarters for the Country’s Re-founding.

Tiani was also decorated as the Grand Master of the National Orders of Niger, the country’s highest honor.

Dignitaries, senior government officials, representatives of the armed forces, and international guests witnessed the event, which signals a new phase in the country’s governance.

President Tiani, who has been leading the country since July 2023, reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to stability, security, and economic progress.

He pledged to uphold the principles of national sovereignty and inclusivity while implementing key reforms outlined by the National Headquarters for the Country’s Re-founding.

The ceremony concluded with a military parade in honor of the newly inaugurated Head of State.
