Cattle rustlers kill one, rustle cattle in Igabi LGA, Kaduna

Armed bandits attacked a Fulani settlement in Unguwan Dankwari, Joga Village, Igabi Local Government Area, on April 21, 2025, resulting in the death of one person and the rustling of cattle.
The attack, which occurred around 0200hrs, left 60-year-old Malam Amadu dead from gunshot wounds to the head. The assailants also made off with an unspecified number of cattle.
Upon receiving the report,security forces were mobilized to the scene. Despite the victim’s injuries, he was rushed to the Primary Health Care in Kujama, where he was confirmed dead.
The security team launched an intensive pursuit of the assailants, which led to a confrontation in a nearby forest.
The bandits fled, leaving behind 10 rustled cattle, which were recovered by the police. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites, as they declined a post-mortem examination.
