CJTF Member Injured in Accidental Discharge in Yobe

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) has sustained a gunshot injury following a negligent discharge of his weapon in Yobe State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on April 25 during a stand-to duty at Kuraketa in Damaturu Local Government Area.
According to the sources, the operative accidentally discharged his weapon, resulting in an injury to his right foot.
He was immediately evacuated for medical attention and is currently in stable condition.
Authorities have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
