The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has commended troops of the 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna, for their steadfastness, professionalism, and diligence in maintaining security within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility (AOR).

General Shaibu gave the commendation on Thursday during an operational visit to frontline troops stationed across the Brigade’s AOR, which includes Shiroro, Rijau, and surrounding communities.

While addressing the soldiers, the COAS assured them of improved welfare, noting that he had been briefed on existing challenges, particularly regarding accommodation and other critical facilities aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of soldiers and their families. He directed the construction and renovation of accommodation and essential facilities to boost troop morale and operational effectiveness.

Lieutenant General Shaibu also urged the troops to maintain professionalism in their duties and to uphold fundamental human rights in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations Charter. He further charged them to remain firm, vigilant, and decisive in confronting terrorists and other security threats within the Brigade’s operational areas.
The COAS’s visit underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting frontline troops while sustaining security across critical operational zones.
