Troops arrest suspected kidnapper in Nasarawa State

Troops under Sector 2 of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested a suspected kidnapper during a targeted operation in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nassarawa state.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended on April 17 at about 1825 hrs by troops operating from FOB Idadu following credible intelligence on criminal activities in the area.
The arrest took place at Atandara community, where the suspect was picked up without resistance during a routine security action.
According to the sources, the suspect was immediately handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Akwanga Division, for further investigation and prosecution.
Security authorities said the operation is part of sustained efforts under Operation Whirl Stroke to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes across border communities.
They added that troops have intensified surveillance and patrols in the general area to prevent further criminal activity and ensure the safety of residents.
