COAS Reiterates Commitment to Soldiers’ Welfare, Commissions Key Projects in Kaduna
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Oluyemi Oluyede, has pledged to lead the Nigerian Army with empathy, ensuring officers and soldiers receive their entitlements.
He made this commitment during his maiden operational visit to Headquarters 1 Division in Kaduna on Wednesday.
Addressing officers and soldiers, Oluyede emphasized the importance of prioritizing personnel welfare and professional development.
He assured the troops that housing and accommodation challenges would be addressed, reiterating his resolve to provide proper living conditions for all personnel.
“We are committed to maintaining a combat-ready and result-driven force,” the COAS said, urging officers to embrace professionalism and actively contribute to the Army’s growth and efficiency.
During the visit, Lt.-Gen. Oluyede commissioned several projects, including the newly built 1 Division Officers’ Mess Annex at Dallet Barracks and the remodeled Corporals Below Quarters at Kotoko Barracks, Ribadu Cantonment.
The Corporals Below Quarters project features 30 housing units aimed at improving soldiers’ living standards.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Maj.-Gen. Mayirenso Saraso, briefed the COAS on the Division’s operational activities.
In his remarks, the GOC expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the COAS of the unwavering loyalty and dedication of the troops.
