Farmlands belonging to eight farmers have been destroyed by grazing cattle in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on June 24 at Tahoss village, where security operatives responded to a distress call over the destruction of farms owned by Mr. Gyang Samuel and seven other farmers.

On arrival at the scene, the operatives confirmed that the farmlands had been damaged overnight by cattle.

The affected farmers were urged to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands while efforts continue to identify, track and apprehend those responsible for the destruction.

Security sources said investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities intensify measures to curb recurring farmer-herder conflicts in the area.
