Farmer killed in suspected ethnic attack in Adamawa

A farmer identified as Mohammed Buba has been killed in what is suspected to be an ethnically motivated attack in Boshiki village, Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The incident occurred on July 1 at about 2:20 p.m., when Buba, a native of Lafiya in Lamurde LGA and of Waja ethnic background, was reportedly attacked while working on his farm by suspected youths believed to be from the Lunguda ethnic group.
He was said to have been macheted on the head and back during the assault.
Following a distress call, security personnel visited the scene and rushed the victim to the General Hospital in Numan, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
His body has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
No arrests have been made as of the time of this report, but efforts are ongoing to track down the assailants. A discreet investigation into the incident has been launched.
