Farmers injured in herders’ attack in Bauchi

Atleast three farmers have sustained injuries following an attack by suspected herders in Tafawa-Balewa Local Government Area of the state.
Sources said the incident occurred on Monday evening at Pyekman village when the farmers, identified as Esther Amos, 58, Naomi Sabo, 37, and Emmanuel Manasseh, 16, were attacked while working on their farm.
According to the sources, the victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to the General Hospital, Tafawa-Balewa, where they are receiving treatment.
The sources said that the Commissioner of Police had directed tactical teams comprising Operation Restore Peace (ORP), the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), the Rapid Response Squad (RSS), and nearby divisions to reinforce security in the area and calm the tense situation.
