Police arrest couple, nurse over sale of newborn baby in Enugu

The Police Command in Enugu State says it has arrested a couple and a nurse for alleged child trafficking after selling a one-day-old baby girl.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects, identified as Godwin Enyikpo, 30, and his wife, Ndidi, 25, both residents behind Emenite Company, Emene, were arrested by detectives from Emene Division following credible intelligence.
The sources added that a nurse, identified as Ijeoma Oma, 32, who allegedly facilitated the sale of the baby about three weeks ago, was also arrested.
The sources explained that the police have intensified efforts to track down other accomplices and rescue the baby.
The sources added that the Commissioner of Police had directed thorough investigation to ensure that all those connected to the crime were brought to justice.
