Fire Guts Nine Shops at Trade Fair Complex in Lagos

A fire outbreak has destroyed goods in nine shops at Katsina Plaza, BBA, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos State.
The incident occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, following a distress call received by the Lagos State Police Command.
According to a security report obtained by Zagazola Makama, teams of police officers and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene after the alarm was raised.
The fire affected nine shops within the plaza and consumed goods stored in the affected premises.
The inferno was eventually brought under control through the combined efforts of the firefighters and police personnel deployed to the scene.
No casualty or loss of life was recorded in the incident.
The cause of the fire and the estimated value of the property and goods destroyed have not yet been established.
The Police Command has commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak, while further developments are expected to be communicated.
