Security operatives in Abuja have arrested four members of a suspected armed robbery syndicate believed to be responsible for a series of attacks in the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspects identified as Umar Abubakar, Iliyasu Ibrahim, Usman Ibrahim, and Alkasim Abubakar, all residents of Mpape Village — were apprehended following a digital intelligence-led operation.
Their arrest followed a report lodged by a victim, who was attacked and robbed of her three mobile phones in the early hours of Oct. 9.
Recovered from the suspects were a cutlass, a sword, and a jack knife, believed to have been used in their operations.
Investigations revealed that the suspects belong to a ten-man armed robbery gang allegedly responsible for several robbery incidents across Kubwa, Mpape, and Life Camp areas of Abuja.
The suspects are currently in custody as further investigations continue.
