FOUR FARMERS KILLED IN FRESH BORNO ATTACK
Tragedy struck in Kirawa, a border town in Borno State, Nigeria, as four farmers were brutally murdered by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on August 22, 2024.
According to eyewitnesses, the victims were engaged in agricultural activities when the terrorists launched a surprise attack, highlighting the persistent security threats faced by rural communities in the region.
Bukar Umar Aji, Councillor of Kirawa Jimini Ward and Speaker of the Gwoza Local Government Council, confirmed the incident and appealed to the armed forces to provide adequate security for the people to farm and earn a living.
Yakubu Mabba Ali, Chairman of the Kirawa Development Association, expressed concerns that the attack on farmers would exacerbate the challenges faced by communities rebuilding after years of insurgency.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of farmers and the need for increased security measures to protect rural communities in Borno State.
