GOC Assures Traditional Ruler of Sustained Peace Efforts in Plateau State
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), commenced an operational visit to frontline locations in the Joint Operational Area (JOA), to assess ongoing security efforts and boost morale.
The visit included tours of Sector 4, Sector 5, Sector 8, as well as Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in Gyambwas and Gashish located in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Plateau State. During the visit, the GOC was briefed by the respective Commanders on the challenges faced by the troops, as well as their immediate needs.
In his address, the GOC praised the efforts of the troops, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and dedication to their duties as they continue to execute the ongoing Op GOLDEN PEACE. He also provided directives aimed at strengthening the operational focus and impact of the mission.
As part of the visit, the GOC paid a courtesy call to His Royal Highness (HRH), Mishkagam Mwaghavul Da John Putmang Hirse, at his palace in Mangu Town. HRH expressed his gratitude for the visit, commended the efforts of the OPSH in ensuring peace in the region, and pledged his ongoing support for the peace initiatives.
The GOC assured the Monarch of OPSH’s unwavering commitment to securing the region and maintaining peace in the JOA.
Additionally, the GOC visited the EIB STRATOC Surveillance Monitoring Rooms at the Bokkos Farm Project and Kassa in Barkin Ladi LGA. There, he engaged with the teams responsible for surveillance and monitoring, reiterating the importance of continuous collaboration in the fight against criminal activities in the region.
The GOC’s visit is a part of ongoing efforts to foster peace and ensure the safety of the people in Plateau State, particularly in the face of rising security challenges.
